bloody finger!

i cut off the tip of my left middle finger yesterday while chopping onions. i just stood there dazed while holding it up in front of my face. it's amazing the body's response to such injuries. instantly my hand went numb from the endorphin rush and the adrenalin sent me shaking like a leaf. naturally the numbness could only hold the pain back for a few moments before i felt the full measure of it. even so, thanks biology for the head start! i must say it is a horrible thing to bleed profusely in front of your kid. olive was in the kitchen cooking with me when it happened and instantly i commanded that she leave the room NOW. she wouldn't and insisted on staying with me to help. she got me a towel which i soaked through quickly, then she went with me to the bathroom to the first aid kit. after soaking through two bandages i just stuck my hand under the faucet and cringed before applying a really really really tight bandage to cut off the bleeding. (it worked.) i am so proud that olive felt so sympathetic and brave! as soon as i wrapped up my finger my second thought was "i've got to finish my dish for our meeting tonight!" PRIORITY FAIL. i swear i did not serve bloody potatoes to our international students!

im so glad im not married to edward cullen because that would have been pretty bad guys.

also, would anyone like to be part of a book chain mail thing? you basically send one person one book and you are supposed to get *36* books back! i signed up in a hurry. i need 6 people pretty please, oh and your email address so i can send you details. speaking of books i read the hunger games in about 6 hours. can't wait to read part two!

have you read the Midnight Sun partial draft that Stephanie Meyer stopped writing when it got leaked on the internet? its 12 chapters of the first book written in Edwards point of view. if you want i can comment again with the link to it, Stephanie Meyer published the 12 chapters online for everyone, but it looks like she won't finish it, anyway i don't want to tempt you with the link now, in case you don't want to read it!

saraH - yes i have read Midnight Sun. it was so good! made twilight have a much softer view of the relationship (vs simply a classic infatuated, dumb girl hopelessly in love with a bad guy). oh i wish she would finish but im not holding my breath sadly

i totally agree. it is very sad that she was thrown off so badly by the leaked chapters.
