olive's destructive phase part deux

last night olive got out of bed, came down the hall to my then empty office. she found a laundry basket, dumped the clothes out, turned the basket over, put it near some shelving, climbed on top of that basket, and got a 42 oz bag of m&ms and a standard size bag of skittles down and went to town. she dumped almost the entire bag of m&ms out on the floor and ate, what i assume to be about 2-3 cups worth while simultaneously downing the bag of skittles. she then put some into tea cups from her tea set and then just went back to bed like nothing happened.

this was in the evening, after spending part of her afternoon putting every single one of our cloth wipes into the toilet. thankfully she didn't flush!

*twitch twitch*

also we found out my sister in law karen and brother jason are having another girl today! YAY! im so excited!!! augustine's prayer tonight was so precious.

dear God,
sometime, could i have a boy cousin? i have 6 girls and not a single boy.
in Jesus name, amen

That prayer is so cute!! About the skittles and the m&m's...it's so cute when someone elses kid does it. At least she was able to go back to sleep. If one of our kids consumed the equivalent they wouldn't fall asleep until the next night. *twitch twitch* indeed...

Olive's "destructive phase" sounds just like what my almost 3 year old is going through too! I'm pretty sure it's just called "three" though! My other children did the same thing at that age, except for the first one. He was an angel and told on himself when he misbehaved. Anyway, I think it's a big learning experience about testing limits and seeing how the world works. Chin up, take a deep breath!

Her expression is too cute. It's like she's saying, "Oh no I didn't."

Hi Jenny,

This comment has nothing to do with your post, but I've been meaning to say this for awhile, and I figured now was as good a time as any.

High school was a terrible time for me, I was the stereotypical outcast who wanted nothing more than to fit in, and to get through the day without being picked on. Every day, your husband would say hi to me, and engage me in small talk.

Those brief displays of kindness got me through the day, and I still can't even begin to describe how much it meant to me. To have someone reach out and make me feel like they cared got me through some really tough times. Had it not been for him, days would pass before anyone even acknowledged me at school.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this comment. I guess I just wanted to thank him for everything. What may have seemed like common courtesy to him meant the world to me. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.
