orgasmic birth

YAH! ohio families for safe birth chapter is screening orgasmic birth! im so there!!

Orgasmic Birth is a documentary that examines the intimate nature of birth and the powerful role it plays in women’s lives when they are permitted to experience it fully. Powerful, passionate, and thought provoking, it dismantles untruths about labor and birth that women have been told for generations.

On September 25 at 7:00 p.m., Ohio Families for Safe Birth (Columbus chapter) will host the only large-screen showing in Central Ohio at Marcus IMAX theatre at Crosswoods Center (200 Hutchinson Ave.) A panel discussion on “Birth and Sexuality” will follow the film, and door prizes will be given at the end of the evening.

Seating is limited. Advance tickets may be purchased for $10 through the Paypal link below; tickets will be $12 at the door.

me being a big ol conservative prude sort of winces when i hear the name of the movie, though it is something that i firmly believe in. enjoying birth for what it is, that is. instead of cringing, tensing up, freaking out, and saying NO NO NO NO during the pain of the moment we have the power to relax, accept, find peace, and dare i say enjoy the process of what birth is. i would not say that anyone "likes" labor pains, that would be against human nature but i feel strongly that it's just part of the process, a right of passage sort of. anyways that is what this film is all about.

I do know that OFSB is planning on showing it throughout the state. Where do you live and I can maybe give you a better idea of when!

Hmm... "likes" labor pains? Dunno...
It is the idea of labor, and not pregnancy, that makes me consider another pregnancy.

(I'd rather be in labor for 2 weeks than pregnant 9 months! Am I weird?)

I so wish this were playing near me! I would love to see it. I definitely think that labor can be enjoyable {in a rite of it's own} and absolutely see it as a life altering experience and rite of passage.

It kind of sounds like the title is a little misleading though. I hope it doesn't turn people off to it. Excuse the pun! I guess I'd have to see the documentary before I could say that though.

did you see the trailer for it? perhaps it has more of a sexual undertone to it that i'm describing?
