hey! what a morning

i thought i had a tattoo appointment today so i mentally prepped for that (you don't want to know my semi-neurotic life arranging i do for stressful events. it is pretty embarrassing), i made arrangements for the kids to go to a friends house for the afternoon and everything. i happened to change my facebook status to reflect my day then shortly after get a phone call from Kat (who's husband saw the status) reminding me that hey! tattoo appointment is NEXT TUESDAY not today. so okay, i change gears and since i'm already ready and we've all had lunch i might as well do something and pack the kids in the car and we go to COSI. we get there and hey! COSI isn't open on tuesdays! so the kids start kung fu fighting in the backseat in protest and i start digging my nails into the steering wheel. so okay, i change gears and decide we'll go to the mall for a while and play on the indoor playground. but not before i see my exit ramp from broad street to 71 is closed and hey! i get lost for a few minutes winding around down one ways downtown. we make it onto the highway and are almost to the mall and hey! my car starts putting and i run out of gas. i quickly switch it to the veggie oil tank, which i've assumed has been emptied since i can't remember the last time we filled it up, the meter isn't 100% reliable and is reading very low. we chug on fumes to the mall where i cry in the car. at least that seriousness makes the kids stop fung fu fighting for a few minutes. we go inside, the kids play at the playground and i buy a new red lipstick. balance is semi restored.

I did not expect that ending, but I like it. Sorry your gears were switched so much, though.

And I know what you mean about getting in the mental zone before energy-draining events like tattoo sessions!
